Surigao del Norte, Part Two

We joined a group trip to the island’s attractions and started the day at a viewpoint that looked over a seemingly endless expanse of coconut trees. Met the ‘human drones’ here! We stopped by a river with this beautifully bent coconut tree (unfortunately though predictably gone now) that drew hundreds of people in, propelling an otherwise ordinary coconut tree to viral stardom. We had lunch by the rock pools at Magpupungko, then spent the rest of the day at the equally internet-famous Sugba Lagoon. Deep greens like I’d never seen before.

On other days, we wandered around on a motorbike, went into caves, hung out in town, watched the sunset. My friend came to Siargao to learn how to surf, and I admittedly came to party. These photos are one half of my recorded trip 😄

Before our visit, I’d been in touch with Lokal Lab and signed us up for a farming and cultural immersion tour. Feel in my honest elements on days like this. A unique experience that I highly recommend!
