Like Siquijor, Biliran Island is its own province, and known for its waterfalls - truly impressive natural landmarks sculpted from the island’s interior mountains. We started the day at Bagongbong Falls, nestled in a valley at a river’s head. No one else was around that morning. We moved onto nearby Ulan-Ulan Falls, named for the water’s fine mist resembling a rainy day. Honestly, suman in these situations are the best thing ever.
Wandering around on a day like this doesn’t come often. After lunch, we headed to Tinago Falls, one of the island’s best known. Those textures, that shale. That murky emerald water looks as cold as it is. We ended the day at Casiawan Falls, a much less visited one, and because of that, perhaps my favourite.
